Another Ethanism

Ethan: Mom, You know what I'm allergic to?
Me: No, what?
Ethan: Noise

Considering he makes the most of it around here, it must be a tough life.

Random Brags and other things.

*Parenting Tip #1. Don't try to teach your child to ride a bike. Running behind a child learning to ride a bike is pain inducing and fruitless.

*Savanna learned how to ride a bike!

*Despite all our many attempts and flailing after her last fall, she did not figure it out until she DECIDED to do it in one afternoon this Spring.

*YEAH SAVANNA! We are very proud of you.

*Emily is the smartest 8th grade math student in the state

*She doesn't like it when you say that, but what would you call it, when her school won the state math competition for small schools and she got the best score on her team.

*I thought so.

*We get free food out of it.

*YEAH!

*Good job Emily!

*Apparently Sierra is following in her footsteps. Her math teacher informed me that she is one the top students in all of his 55 in grade 4 math...she is in 3rd grade.

*YEAH SIERRA!

*Good job we are proud of you.

*Ethan is getting an attitude.

*YIKES!

*And just for the record I AM the boss of him. Despite his claims otherwise. Though just to be clear he is still in charge of his choices, just not his consequences.

*The last week of school is called Intensive week. The students get to go in-depth on one subject for the whole week.

*Tim gets to go on an overnight Rafting trip near Moab.

*FUN

*They won't let me come.

*The should let me come.

*Tim has to earn $125.00 to go.

*If you are interested to assist in the raising of the said money, he is selling Papa John's pizza coupons for $5.00 a sheet. You get a free small pizza with that.

*Hopefully he will find the coupons soon.

*Grr...Deep breaths.

* 6 days and counting...no one has missed the TV service yet.

*I love the weather.

*My goal is 2 loads of laundry per day.

*I feel that in my current mental state, that is lofty.

* I have been meeting my goal.

*YEAH ME!

* Mike can breathe. He is happy about that.

*Yeah Mike.

*I started a Facebook fan page for Ram Kitchen.

*I've been meaning to start a Ram Kitchen blog for years now.

*I've waited so long, the blog is no longer necessary.

*If you are not a fan and you want to be search for Ram Kitchen Supplies.

* No pressure.

*I went on my first training bike ride on Saturday.

*It was only 5 miles.

*Yes I was winded at the end.

*Yikes!

*I'm slightly obsessed with blossom pictures.

Breaking up is hard to do.

By some standards our relationship had stood the test of time. 3 years is a long time after all. We weathered the storms, real ones, the price hikes, the quirky buttons. But, the time has come to say goodbye. It's been real, (well not really) it's been fun, (on occasion) but it hasn't been real fun. Real fun is outside fun, real fun is board game fun, real fun is less expensive. (unless you count Disneyland).

Why am I waxing philosophical today? Because I just spent 45 minutes breaking up with my television provider. There was wailing, crying, pleading and promises to do better. It was pathetic really.

Me: I'd like to disconnect my service.
The Girl: Oh no, what can we do?
Me: Match the price of your competitor
The Girl: We can lower your price by $10.00!
Me: Um, no thanks, lowering the price by $10.00 would still have me paying TWICE as much as your competitor. Besides when I use your DVR I get 8 hours recorded before the show then it stops when the show is supposed to start.
The Girl: We have people for that.
Me: Please cancel my service
The Girl: But we have 150 channels!
Me: And your point? We block things like Disney and Nickleodeon anyway, why would we want MORE garbage?
The Girl: Let me transfer you to the disconnection department
As it turns out it is aptly named. They are very disconnected with reality.

30 minutes of more pleading, threatening and legalize, it is official, we have one last night for a fling then we will be TV free. Can't say it will be forever, but it will be cheaper.

Man that was annoying. Breaking up is hard to do. But boy does it feel good.

Laugh or Cry?

While I was helping Ethan with his toiletry duties today I heard him say under his breath.

"She's a great Mom, but why does she have to hurt me everytime?"

I'm really not sure WHOM he was talking to, it certainly wasn't me as he hurriedly apologized when he saw me looking at him. But I have committed to be more gentle next time.
