13 Years and 1 Day ago...

I was sitting in the park by Mueller Jr High, (I think that's the name of the school) trying to not be 'too' uncomfortable with the ever increasing quantity of abdomen tightening otherwise known as contractions, when...the sprinklers and the fireworks started at the same moment. I along with the rest of the firework watchers leaped up grabbed our chairs and raced to the parking lot. From there it was only down hill. After a very long night and an even longer day--Miss Emily Annette graced this world at 6:50 pm on Pioneer Day--with her presence. Yep...I have a 13 year old. Yikes!

Happy Birthday Emily!

And word to the wise. When you are given pickles as a gift...look for the catch. ;)

Happy Birthday Emily! You got pickles as a gift? I wish I would get pickles as a gift - I love pickles. Okay - so what's the catch?

Emily I had forgotten you had a holiday-day. Incidentally, you and my brother in law share the day! And, please explain the pickles. I wish someone would give me pickles, too! Love them.

On the bottom of the pickles (the pickle jar, not the actual pickles) there was some money taped to go toward either a desk or a bike...tough decision, I want a desk and I want a bike...so we'll see. :)

Pickles are a running joke in our family. Nobody but me likes them. So they are fun to give as gag gifts. Emily was wondering what her real present was...but didn't want to say. It's always good to be observant!

Happy Birthday Emily! And what a very clever present... I'll have to remember that.
