"The desire to create is one of the deepest yearnings of the human soul."
Dieter F. Uchtdorf
I loved this when I first heard it and have been thinking about creating over the last little while (Thanks Emily). Sometimes, it seems the things that get created at my house are more mess than not. But, in reflection, those things we create are not necessarily art masterpieces or symphonies, they may not be revered by the world, or noted by those around you. But when we create whether it be something textile or a relationship as we were designed to do...the world is a little brighter for our effort. I ran across this post the other day on another blog and it made me smile. A Glorious Mess, Indeed.
What will you create today?

My girls are creating "portraits" of dragons with carbon, charcoal, water colors, markers, and ink in the other room while I am blog hopping ... and who knows, maybe I'll "create" a post about it later. :)
I loved his talk when I heard it the first time. It was very encouraging and inspiring.
Thanks for posting that. It makes me wonder - when was the last time I "created" something? And if I can't remember, I think it is definitely an area I could do better in.
I wish I could 'create' a blog layout that would actually be wide enough for the video. I know its possible...just need to figure it out. And in the meantime I hope that the fact the video is hanging over the border doesn't drive you as nutty as it does me. :)
That's funny - I hadn't even noticed that the video didn't fit in your blog. It's true - we're always the most critical about the things we 'create'. :)
Finally stopped long enough to watch this. Thanks for sharing, it's a wonderful talk and a wonderful video. When he first gave that I remember thinking it would be one of those classics that you always go back to. So true, so true. I've thought about it with the whole breadmaking thing. It does feel good to create.
