The Davis County Tourism board has a had time winning. For the last few years they have hosted a balloon festival on Antelope Island and each time it has rained. They decided to bump the festival up this year a couple weeks to Labor Day weekend and while not a lot of rain, there was quite a bit of wind and clouds. The balloons were still beautiful to behold even if they didn't get to launch (at least while we were there.)

Fun! Neat pictures. How was the smell that time of year? The few times we went to Antelope Island it was rather stinky.
relieved that we didn't go to this one now. i really tried to get myself convinced, but you know my history with these dumb things. looks like i made the right choice. one of these years it's gonna all fall in the right spot. one of these years.

Surprisingly the smell and even the bugs were not an issue at all this visit.
Love hot air balloons - to look at that is; I don't think I'll ever have the courage to go up in one.
We thought it was pretty funny - a balloon and kite festival. So they don't want wind, but they do. ??? :)
Marni--yeah pretty funny. We didn't stay for the kites. Thought about coming back for them later in the day, but we got busy.
