The good news...I'll be able to update my promised blog posts.
The bad news...well NONE that I can think of...unless you don't like reading my blog...and if that's the case...why are you?
OK off to the randomness.
1. Proof that I can french braid and I DO 'sometimes' do cute hairdos on my girls. Keep in mind she'd been running already today.

2. Brenda, you and Emily need a heart to heart. She came home from her Young Women planning meeting tonight a bit down at the upcoming activities. Crafts, crafts and more crafts with a Friday night Corn Maze complete with idiots jumping out at you to scare you to break up the flow. I said, "Why don't you plan a trip to channel 5's studios. (I know they do it for boy scouts why not for the girls?) Because I really want to go. :D" Her reply. Mom, they already think I'm a geek. I mean imagine if I suggested having a math contest...it would be like that.
We need some GOOD (meaning non-geeky-non-crafty-fun-yet-educational) ideas to pass along.
3. Huh... you should always do things in three when writing... you know supporting your thesis and all that, but I've got nothing. So I guess off to the real posts.

I can't french braid to save my life. I've tried and tired...can't.
I think My Kayt would really like your Emily.
I went to our local news station for mutual once. We got to sit in and watch a live broadcast. It was fun! We had to be quiet and not giggle. The newscasters would talk to us during commercial breaks. Awesome!
Braids: Impressive
Corn Maze: Always hated them too. Who thinks of this nonsense?
Emily: I'm sorry, sweetie. And, I understand.
I'm impressed with the 'DO! And I love her hair color!
I have a beef with YW activities right now. I could rant, but I'll save you from that.
I remember going to the news station too! Coolest activity!
I went to the news station once too - but not as a YW activity - we lived too far away.
Possible activity ideas? Well, I've been thinking about those since Brenda's Enrichment rant. I mean - what do I really want to learn about that will enrich my life? And for me, those things are probably different than what I would have wanted when I was a YW. So, what would I want my daughter to learn? Definitely more than crafts. How about mini-lessons on finances, career research, how to choose a college, skills you might use as a mom? That's all that came to me just now - and I really should get back to work :)
Jana-That would be cool if our girls could hang out.
Brenda-Thanks...your braids are legendary.
Lisa-I would love to hear your rant
Sharon-good ideas. I thought of some more--what do you think?
*Flower Arranging
*Room Decorating
*Definitely echo the finances...but maybe extend it to how to budget money you make babysitting or some other thing like that.
*Visit some professionals...some ideas Veterinarian; Mayor; Book *Store owner?
*Hair Styling--learn how to do a simple hair cut--visit a cosmotology school?
Thank you Brenda...that makes me feel better. :)
