To-Do Lists

So when you are going on vacation and are not ready and you still have shopping, packing, cleaning, laundry to do before departure and meanwhile you have to still create purchase orders, call 3 vendors, finalize a TV spot, confirm a convention demo, and a hundred other little things for work, and your life feels like a run-on sentence so you tend to write that way too.

Do you write to-do lists?

And when you do, does it make you feel more in control or does the vast quantity of individual lines of things that MUST get done in the next 48 hours seem overwhelming so you head to the Internet and waste time blogging about it?

Yeah me too.

AAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!

AHHHHHHHHHHH, I'm stressing out with you!

Yes, I write lists.
Yes, they stress me out.

But, I have to ask:

T.V. spot? Vacation agenda (Grand Canyon?)?

for vacations, definitely a list-maker. it tricks me into thinking i'm in control, but i'm really a giant stress ball. what can i do to help?

I have a constant, ongoing, rolling list of things to do. I think it helps me stay on task and therefore, I get things done. However, sometimes, I throw the list away and just try to relax.

I definitely write lists. It helps me keep track of all that needs to get done. I can prioritize the lists, and I LOVE crossing things off - it means I'm that much closer to getting to where I want to be. Good luck . . . and can't wait to see ya!

I hope your list is getting smaller! When do you leave?

Well I crossed off about 10 items today...but I added back about 5 because I kept remembering things I had forgotten. We leave Wednesday afternoon, but that day is taken up with drs appts, Kindergarten round up, dance and other assorted errands. So I need to be ready tomorrow night. Who needs to sleep though right? Mike will drive I'll sleep. :)

I have to write a list. I can't function if I don't. I can't go to the grocery store without a list either. A few times I've left my list at home and I just feel so lost at the store.

Have fun!

I'm sending you some cyper toothpicks to keep those eyes open while you pack, wash, shop, organize, finalize.

Don't forget the cat.
And the mail.
And turn down the thermostat.
What about garbage night?
The newspaper?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

My mom always did a head count before we drove away. I think she was worried that she'd forget a kid or something.

Ahh head count...good idea. Thankfully I have Joan for all the rest of your list. :)

um, yes. that'd be me. i think it's more about the process of making a list than it is about what's actually on the list itself. make sense? i refrained from writing a list about what i wanted to write about here. i'll stop now.

Welcome Amy! Yes just having a list...no matter what is on it helps the old brain get in gear.
